Subclass 117 Visa also known as the Orphan Relative Visa allows a single child to come to Australia to live with their relative if their parents have passed away, are unable to care for them or cannot be found.
The child would be able to work and study in Australia with this visa, which would allow them to remain there permanently. For the first two years the child is in Australia, the sponsor is obligated to help the child by providing housing and financial support.

Eligibility
Who can be the Sponsor?
The sponsor must be an eligible Australian relative who’s an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or an eligible New Zealand citizen. Siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, and the present spouse or de facto partner of the child’s relative are all examples of qualified relatives. The relative must also reside permanently in Australia. Typically, the term “settling” refers to a person who has been residing legally in Australia for at least two years. If the sponsor or the sponsor’s partner has been accused of crimes involving children, the case officer will also take that into account when deciding whether to grant the visa.
