Parent Visa

    The 143 visa is a Contributory Parent visa, issued by the Australian government. This visa allows parents of an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to live permanently in Australia.

    This type of visa, known as a “Contributory” visa, is permanent. This is due to the $4,225 first-time applicant application fee and the $1,425 spouse application fee. The second installment for every application, however, is $43,600. The processing time for this visa is approximately 5.7 years, and if approved, it becomes permanent.

    • have a sponsor or an assurance of support

    Eligibility


    • You should have an eligible child who is a settled Australian citizen, Permanent resident or Eligible New Zealand citizen, unless you are applying for the Retirement Pathway.
    • You should meet the balance-of-family test, unless you are applying for the Retirement Pathway or hold a Subclass 173 visa.
    • You should have an Assurance of Support, unless you are applying for the Retirement Pathway.
