    The 188B visa is a subclass of the Business Innovation and Investment visa (BII) program in Australia. It is a provisional visa for entrepreneurs and investors who want to establish a new or develop an existing business in Australia.

    Only those who are nominated by an Australian State or Territory government are eligible for an 188B visa. For those who wish to make a specific investment in an Australian state or territory, this is a temporary visa valid for 5 years. The Business Innovation & Investment (Residence) Subclass 888 visa allows the candidate to apply for permanent residence after maintaining an investment in Australia for four years. To apply for this visa, the applicants may be in Australia or abroad.

    Eligibility


    • You must be nominated by a state or territory government agency.
    • You must score at least 65 points on the points test.
    • You must meet the criteria for one of the BII streams: Business Innovation stream, Investor stream, Significant Investor stream, or Entrepreneur stream.
    • You must have a genuine intention to establish a new or develop an existing business in Australia.
    • You must have adequate personal and business assets and a successful business track record.
