    • All New Zealanders who desire to migrate need to apply under the Skilled Independent Visa (subclass 189) New Zealand stream.

    • You will need to submit a letter of Expression of Interest and be invited by the authorities to apply.
    • You will need points test pass marks related to your occupation.
    • You will have to be between the age of 18 to 44 years.

    Can I Apply for 189 in Australia or offshore?


    • If your current visa is refused or cancelled then you will not be eligible to apply for the 189 visa while you are onshore in Australia
    • If you are to lodge your Subclass 189 Skilled Independent Visa from within Australia, you will need to hold a Bridging A, B or C visa. This bridging visa will allow you to remain in Australia during the processing of your visa application.
    • If your current visa is refused or cancelled then you will not be eligible to apply for the 189 visa while you are onshore in Australia
