Partner (Spouse) visa

    The 300 visa is a Prospective Marriage visa, also known as a fiancé visa, issued by the Australian government. It allows individuals who are engaged to an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen to enter Australia and get married within nine months.

    Eligibility


    • Must be engaged to an Australian citizen, permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen.
    • Must meet certain health and character requirements.
    • Must provide evidence of the engagement and plans to marry in Australia.

    Benefits


    • Allows the holder to enter Australia and get married within nine months of the visa being granted.
    • After getting married, the holder can then apply for a partner visa (such as the 820 or 801 visas) to live and work in Australia.
    • The holder of the 300 visa is allowed to study and receive medical treatment in Australia.
